Gujarat eyes 1,500 apartments to house Tata fab staff, suppliers

The Economic Times reports that the Gujarat government is planning to construct approximately 1,500 apartments aimed at accommodating employees of Tata Electronics and its suppliers who will be working at the Dholera semiconductor fabrication facility. This initiative comes as part of the broader development plans associated with Dholera Special Investment Region (SIR), which is positioned to become a key hub for semiconductor manufacturing in India. Tata Electronics, a subsidiary of Tata Sons, was established in December 2020 and has since signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Government of Gujarat to set up a semiconductor fab in Dholera.
