Gujarat attracts Rs 15,000 cr in semiconductor deals, aims to create integrated value chain

Gujarat has secured a significant investment of ₹15,000 crore in semiconductor deals as part of its strategic aim to create an integrated value chain in this critical sector. These investments are part of the state’s broader ambition to become a hub for semiconductor manufacturing, which is a vital component for numerous technologies. This initiative is expected to bolster not only the local economy but also India's position in the global semiconductor market. Dholera, designated as a Special Investment Region (SIR), plays a central role in this semiconductor strategy. Dholera is set to house India's first semiconductor fabrication facility (fab) developed by Tata Electronics in collaboration with the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (PSMC). This initiative aligns with Gujarat's broader budgetary provisions, including ₹610 crore earmarked for trunk infrastructure to support the semiconductor ecosystem in Dholera.
