Cabinet Approves Ahmedabad Dholera Semi High-Speed Rail Project

The Indian Union Cabinet has officially approved the ₹20,667 crore Ahmedabad-Dholera semi high-speed rail project, marking a significant advancement in transport infrastructure connecting the bustling city of Ahmedabad to the rapidly developing Dholera Special Investment Region (DSIR). This project aims to facilitate improved mobility, bolster economic growth, and streamline logistics in the region. The semi high-speed rail will cover the distance between Sarkhej in Ahmedabad and Dholera, significantly reducing travel time for commuters and enhancing the accessibility of Dholera, which is positioned as a major hub for industrial and urban development. In addition to the railway project, Dholera is witnessing another major development with the establishment of India’s first Gallium Nitride (GaN)-based Micro-LED semiconductor unit, backed by a ₹3,936 crore investment approved by the Cabinet.
