Ahmedabad village turns into island as Bhogavo river overflows in rain

Vanitalav Bhal village in the Dholera taluka of Ahmedabad district has experienced severe flooding due to the Bhogavo river overflowing its banks after heavy rainfall. As a result, the village has become isolated, with communication cut off from surrounding areas. The local police, along with the district administration and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), are conducting rescue operations to evacuate residents. Road access has been restricted due to floodwaters, and authorities are urging people to avoid closed roads and adhere to safety guidelines. This flooding follows a broader pattern of heavy rain affecting around 10,000 individuals in the district since late July. Dholera is notable for being the site of India's first planned smart city and a significant industrial development.
