Ahmedabad to Dholera in 48 minutes : High - Speed double line project to boost connectivity

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved the ₹20,667 crore Ahmedabad-Dholera Semi High-Speed Double Line project, aiming to enhance regional connectivity. This 134-km railway line will significantly reduce travel time between Ahmedabad and Dholera to just 48 minutes. The project is notable as it utilizes indigenous technology and marks the Indian Railways' first semi-high-speed initiative. It will improve mobility and provide direct connections to important locations, including the future Dholera Airport and Lothal National Maritime Heritage Complex.
